yeah... the best historical accounts that we have indicate that he
came from a settlement on the banks of the clyde. the clyde river
region was well north of hadrian's wall. that's caledonian (now
scottland). cant say for sure when exactly he lived, but during the
late 4th and early 5th century, the roman's work was still
perpetuating itself north of hadrian's wall up by the antonine wall.
that is were the Clyde region is. there were plenty of romanized
settlements there in (caledonia) scottland.

also... no question that he was a celt by blood. i've heard/read a
few false accounts that he was actually latin. easy to discredit with
the info we have on his parents.

Michael, why isn't Leon "the guy"? He's the only back on the roster
right now without question marks. And arguably he's a top 10 running
back in this league. In my view, it's his job to lose. I see LT's
contributions coming more on 3rd down.

no reason for sure to say that leon is NOT the guy... Just dicey... it
was never proven that he can take the pounding of a first line back..
second off... can he regain his form ??? i'm betting he can, but it
is a big 'If" Not to mention all the recent talk that it is "50/50"
if he will be a jet next season... so... no sure thing there with leon
for several good reasons.

Wait... so Leon hasn't proven that he can take a pounding, but Greene
has? If anything, I'd think the opposite is true. Admit it. You're
still hung up about his size. :)

What's funny to me is that a few short years ago everybody was saying
you can't do RB by committee. Running backs have to get 20+ carries to
be effective, or something like that. Now EVERYBODY'S going the
by-committee route. Even teams with top tier running backs, like the
Vikings, are trying to put together a committee. The tides turn in this
league so fast.

He was probably a Romanized (is that even a word) Briton who were Celts.
Just like St.Paul was a Roman and also a Jew.

In "his" few writings he references a place that only is mentioned by
Patrick. Who the hell knows as the history is probably a compilation of
a few missionaries loaded up with Irish embellishment.

We still should never forgive him for sending us the snakes form Ireland
& becoming members of the bar in America.

I saw where you said that. But you also said that you think Greene is
"the guy" -- no mention of Leon -- and I can't really figure out why
except for the part where you said that Leon hasn't proven that he can
take a pounding. That's why I was wondering -- and Greene has?

I just can't figure out where all this Greene-love is coming from. He's
an intriguing prospect, no doubt, but it's hard for me to imagine that
he's the frontrunner for the job at this point. Maybe a full camp and
preseason of wowing the coaches gets him there, but that's far from a given.

yes... no question at all that he was romanized. that is an
absolute. because he was romanized, some accounts have taken on a
life of their own and had him as a latin transplant and not a celt.
that is bs. he was the latin speaking son of celtic but romanized
parents who also spoke latin and were roman citizens.

we only have two bits of writing from patric himself. the
"declaration" and the letter to the soldiers of croticius. in the
"declaration" patric actually lists his home town as banna venta
berniae. that came directlu from old pat himself. most historians
and geograpers think that condier that banna venta berniae was the
area the romans called glannaventa. that's just north of current day
cumbria in the scottish lowlands. given that there are also some tid
bits that mention the clyde with patric, a fair guess is that he lived
some place close to where the clyde reaches furthest south. the clyde
does not reach down as far as carlisle, so perhaps he was close to
another river that the clyde was connected to. being some place in
the southwestern part of scottland along the navigable clyde also
makes sense in the fact that he was snatech up by raiders from
ireland. as far as the geography goes that is the most likely region
were raiders from across the irish sea would land. nort east of
carlisle like may be portpatric :-)

we only have two bits of writing that came directly from the st.
himself...

i'm only thinking out loud when i say "green is the guy". there are
questions about him that i have never ignored. he's untested

lolz... the celts did have such a cook book. ritual canibalism is
historical fact as far as the celts go in pre-romanized brittian.
when the celts needed a special favor from their gods, they'd take to
ritual canibalism. when the romans looked to take over the place, the
celtic druids retreated to anglesey island for a little munchie time
in hopes that their god's would repel the romans back across the
channel.

Giants don't play the Jets this year and the schedules are made up well in
advance aside from a couple games so that won't work.

So in that scenario who would be the home team? Same problem...

I may have missed the dialogue, but any other paranoid fans out there
who KNOW the league did not do the coin flip with a team rep present
because it was rigged?

Not sure why you Jet fans are so bummed. Giants opening the new
stadium just means Sheli and the Giants will get the first loss in the
new digs.

So what will be that Mon Night game/

Minnesota if Favre is back,
if not Pats?

I read earlier that it will probably be Dolphins, but maybe Pats.

The password is: facetious...

But since you took it seriously...
Lots of teams/players don't like mid-week games, especially Turkey Day.
For the NFL, why waste a holiday game, when they'll get the viewers anyway, on a big
market team? Let the small market teams get some exposure, they wouldn't normally get.

Big time opportunity to rent a big tent and take the whole family out to the
stadium lots for turkey day. Make some calls to the local news stations and
get them all on teevee. They'll love it!

Yeah, smallish and not so chewy. All were Jewish tax firms and they
always seem to have at least one partner that finds a place with
'bagels like real New York bagels'. The common place bagels around
here seem too big and way too chewy, so by the time you finish the
first one, your jaws ache. Maybe good training for something, but I
can't figure out what. Maybe the guy that pulls planes by his teeth or
something.

Still, the only taxes I do now are my own. I actually have a pretty
decent tax program on my PC that charges by the return - I only do
mine and use it for estimates for other clients, so it does everything
and costs me about $ 20 more than the retail programs.

Good training for riding the Giro with a broken collarbone, maybe.

Given that Cav is in this race, the top-ten here was so weird I had to
look up the race report.

OK, eliminated by a crash with 8k to go. Not explained is how Ale-jet,
Farrrar, and McEwen, (and even Baden Cooke) got run down by people I
have ever heard of. But should probably pay more attention to in the
future.

OTOH, Garzelli's overall vaulted me up to 39/446 in Virtual DS:

I didn't even remember I'd drafted Garzelli. I think I probably overpaid
for him, but he's my top earner right now.

I drafted Danny Pate?!

EBH was all over the road. He put his head down and either didn't see
anything, like Abdu in his best days, or he felt Petacchi coming up on
his left and deliberately closed the door. Anyway, he drifted to the
left, squeezing Petacchi & Farrar into the barriers. Very nasty crash
narrowly avoided. After they had braked and Petacchi came around on the
right, EBH immediately started drifting right, again pushing Petacchi
out. Sporza co-commentator Tom Steels noted that Fast Eddy did the same
thing last year on a stage of the Eneco Tour. He's not making friends.
Surprising, really, for a Team Sky rider; they're all such adorable
characters!

I was getting that screen display for at least 20 minutes after refreshing
quite a few times before I quit trying to access the site. I'm not saying
CycloTo was hacked, but I am wondering if they were hacked yesterday.

This is what Wordpress users have said about Bylenis is here, Republic of
Turkey.

HELP! I'm looking for a 125mm road stem (31.8 clamp) I've looked
around and can't find one. It doesn't seem as if QBP have any.
Doesn't anyone out there at least know of any brands who if nothing
else "claim" to make a 125mm stem? Preferably not carbon and not
overpriced, not adjustable or anything silly like that. Someone told
me the Deda Newton comes in a 125, but QBP don't seem to stock it.

Any help much appreciated.
cheers

I just did a QBP search at aebike.com for 125mm 31.8 clamp stems and
it shows two adjustable (I know, not your preference) stems, one from
Dimension, one from Oval Concepts.

If you need something so specific as 125mm only, you should specify
what rise angle you want since a given 130mm or 120mm stem might give
you the same position at various rise angles and a rearrangement of
the spacer stacking.

Buddy if you're this worried about position, you probably are one of
those freaks trying to shave 3 gms off of your rotational weight.

Here's a tip, take a big dump for every race and if you're still not
winning, hit the needle.

5mm is anal.

Or, the OP could get a set of bars with a slightly longer reach and
just use a 120.

No results for 12.5.

You're entirely welcome, if this helps.

5mm IS anal. I know, nuts. I've been riding for a while both with
130mm and 120mm. I can't change the frame, so I figured I'd go for a
125 stem. And I'm not a weight freak by any stretch of the
imagination. I would just be better off, and in the same position as
my preivous brand bikes on a 125mm. Thanks though.

You idiots need to take an account the thickness of the bar wrap.
Just a single mm difference in thickness can throw your entire
position off !

What about the hydration of the person or whether they stretched or
did heavy weights recently?

The god damn measurments must be exact ! And every little change must
be reameassured against the entire set up.

I know two guys that died of spontaneous combustion caused by over
heating in their helmets because they failed to ccount for the angle
of incidence of the sun while traveling southwest in the spring at an
inclination of 234.598 degrees for more than 3 minutes and 47
seconds.

On the other hand I know several world champions that never even
actually rode or trained at all but spent all of their time making
sure their position was exact and making the changes neccesary to
create the perfect position.

Those gold medal are a testament to their wise decision to focus on
this critical element. Don't make the same mistake and let any
single measurement be off by more than .1 nanometer. And don't waste
your time with high priced bike parts. A Schwinn stingray and a Leica
laser measuring system is all you need.

Cheers all. The only thing I've found is a Deda Newton, but it's
apparently very rare in the US and I can't get hold of it over here
either. Ugh. If only my frame were a "normal" size.:)

Thank for all you're input.

He's getting to the point where he needs someone throwing cobbles.

Henry,

Please... much like in the lottery, Hincapie's odds of winning MSR
are barely affected whether he rides or doesn't ride. IOW, for all
intents and purposes, the odds are zero. I would've thought for sure
you knew I was joking. In all honesty, when I posted that I wasn't
even aware he was on the start list.

It's 50/50 that the odds are zero.

You mispelled bukkake you idiot !

And if the girl inhales it's called something completely different.

Check the urban dictionary and stop posting this garbage in RBR.

There are kids in here god damnit and they don't need to be exposed to
bukkake or learn what www.youporn.com is at a young age.

They deserve to grow up in a sheltered world free from porn and
profanity and it's fucking cunts like you that end up teaching them
things by your foolish and loose use of language.
