Yeah, that's another possibility, but I said what I meant. I think he
is actually a sociopath. (Having said that, I'll admit it's
ridiculous to try to make such a diagnosis from afar.) Check and
you'll see - he meets a lot of the criteria.

As long as I'm spinning this theory, here is a question - if he did
give his girlfriend CERA without her knowledge, might that explain the
inconsistent test results? For example, if CERA is meant to be
injected, and he instead put some in her food or a drink, could that
cause her to have an A test positive and/or a B test negative? (Might
the samples be more time sensitive if the drug was administered
orally?)

Local, state and federal political figures told a crowd at the
Colorado Cannabis Convention on Saturday that they believe marijuana
laws nationwide will continue to become less restrictive, with full
legalization a real possibility.

But, the politicians said, marijuana activists will need to be both
patient and persistent to make that happen.

"Don't expect the legislature to solve all of these problems in one
year," said state Sen. Pat Steadman, D-Denver. "Don't expect every
piece of legislation to be perfect. The law usually moves in baby
steps over time."

The legislative panel — featuring Steadman; state Rep. Joe Miklosi, D-
Denver; Denver Councilman Chris Nevitt; and the district director for
U.S. Rep. Jared Polis, D-Colo. — was one of the main events of the
convention's final day. (Another was a better-attended autograph-
signing session by the marijuana-infused hip-hop group Cypress Hill.)

Organizers had predicted the convention could attract as many as
100,000 people; attendance was steady Saturday, but no official head
count was available. Event organizer Michael Lerner, a California
media magnate whose properties include Kush magazine and
DailyBuds.com, said he was pleased with the event.

"Phenomenal," he said. "Completely incident-free."

Polis had been expected to speak at the legislative panel but had to
cancel at the last minute. Nonetheless, Polis district director Andy
Schultheiss told the crowd that Polis is supportive of marijuana
activists and said the congressman from Boulder has signed on as a co-
sponsor to a bill that would give full protection from federal
prosecution to the medical-marijuana industry and another that would
legalize marijuana altogether for adults.

Polis also is a co-sponsor on a bill that would allow defendants in
medical-marijuana states to raise a medical defense in federal court.

The bills have not yet had a congressional hearing.

"The number of members of Congress who say, like Jared Polis, that
marijuana should be legalized is growing," Schultheiss said. ". . .
Social change takes time, and we are in the middle of it now."

None of the panel members differed greatly in their opinions, and they
spoke to an audience of the converted. When Miklosi said of medical-
marijuana, "This can be a positive force in society," the comment drew
cheers.

Earlier in the day, a panel of lawyers was less optimistic about the
immediate political future of marijuana. Attorney Rob Corry said
efforts at the state Capitol to craft rules for the medical-marijuana
industry amounted to an attempt to "regulate us out of existence."
Brian Vicente, with Sensible Colorado, said the bills would hurt small
marijuana growers and patient cooperatives.

And attorney Sean McAllister urged medical-marijuana growers and
caregivers to refuse to cooperate with police investigations.

"Say, 'It's medical, it's legal and other than that you can talk to my
attorney,' " McAllister said.

1.) I was using the term salary in a generic way. All cyclists are independent contractors.
2.) The UCI rulebook's use of the term income is likewise generic with respect to the independent contractor
vs. employee distinction.
3.) Image rights, appearance fees, and prize money is NOT considered a part of what the UCI can claim for a
doping violation pursuant to Rule 326.
4.) The source of this is the UCI and the figures are highly suspect. Most riders earn far less than that and
the UCI is basing its figures purely on copies of the contract. Many teams are known to subvert the minimum
annual income requirement by submitting false documents to the UCI. The UCI is either stupid or complicit to
that well known ruse.

I've been riding my bike again now for perhaps 22 years. Today we did a ride
around the San Ramon Valley area. We had some good riders and some people
that can hardly keep up with a slow person. This is the way a club ride is
supposed to be. We held the group together while passing other groups going
in the opposite direction who weren't keeping theirs together.

And one thing I also noticed - there are more and more cyclists on the road
every year. Racing bicycles becomes interesting to people who ride. So each
additional person riding a bicycle is a prospective aficionado. If you love
racing then you had dang well love those slow people riding out there on the
boulevard.

Here's hoping that cycle racing lasts forever.

You have to admit...that philosophy does solve a lot of issues. No worries
about global warming, they are just gonna fry it all anyway. No civil
rights issues...there aren't any. BTW, there is a "Bible Church" not far
from here that is pretty much the same way.....out thumping about the end is

My brother is with Homeland Security, and I had to answer all kinds of
questions about my citizenship when he was being considered for the job.
I was born in England, which, as we all know, is a radical
American-hating haven for terrorists ;-)

The thing is, our dad was an American serviceman stationed in England at
the time (World war 2), and by law I was automatically an American
citizen. Wouldn't you think that people hiring for Homeland Security
should know that?

As far as Rogers is concerned, I saw him on TV apologizing. He said he
has a license for a concealed weapon, but he didn't know the gun was in
his luggage.

This brings up the question: If you are given the privilege to carry a
loaded gun, shouldn't you know exactly where that gun is AT ALL TIMES?
His license should be revoked, IMO.

My guess is he knew it was there...but that is an easy "softener" for the
situation. I decided I want a license...not to carry...but to just have a
large caliber canon here at the house, maybe four of them pointed in all
four directions. It's not too hard to figure out I'm a "progressive", and
the Obama sign on my lawn gave some stuff away. But now, I have some
"friends" who listened to my new music (they asked to hear it) and they are
really upset. They are part of the "Woo woo" people, those folks who start
to tell you something and you can only cipher about one of five words, the
rest is just "woo woo woo woo Sarah Palin's right woo woo woo woo Obawoo woo
woo woo Kenya woo woo woo woo." And I'm pretty sure most of them have guns
at home....so I figured I'd just get a permit to have a tank or two around
the house, and I'm gonna buy a couple of hound dogs....so my friends have
someone to communicate with.

With our offense still questionable, we need a solid, mostly dependable kicker, which
Feely was (although he missed a couple in the AFC Championship game).
Hopefully, Folk will regain his pro-bowl leg, with Westhoff's help.

I have little confidence that Westy can fix Folk's head, which based on
his last performances if the problem.

I think this was the first really bad move of the offseason. They

Unless the articles I have read are mistaken (or I am not reading them
correctly), nothing says the player we sign has to be a kicker.

I look at this, especially given the vague quote about giving an
opportunity at other players from Tannenbaum, as more of a way to free
up the Jets to sign a UFA at a position of need or desire. Sure, we
can't sign Julius Peppers, but having $1.5 or so to spend on a
different UFA might work well for us, particularly since kickers tend
to change teams so easily as camp starts to pick up. If Folk isn't the
one, I am sure there will be a cut or unsigned free agent somewhere we
can pick up. I'm not worried.

About that, anyway. Worried about lots of other things, but not the
Feely move.

The Arizona Cardinals and New York Jets could wind up unintentionally
swapping kickers.

With former Jets kicker Jay Feely having reached agreement with Arizona,
the Jets have arranged for Cardinals free-agent kicker Neil Rackers to
fly to New York on Monday for a visit with the team Tuesday, according
to a source.

Rackers had discussed a contract with the Cardinals, who wound up giving
a two-year deal worth about $3 million to Feely.
