Glenn... That is pretty much the same why I feel. There are a lot of
fair questions to raise about the creation of Israel, but I can
understand the motives of the people that founded the country. Even
the jewish people that wanted to assimilate in other countries/
cultures found themselves up against murderous attitudes. I don't
have any religious reasons to support Israel and I don't tout the
2,000 year old land deed, but from a purely cultural and political
stand point, you have to see why they desperately wanted their own
home stadium to play in. Also good to keep in mind that since Titus
kicked them out of the city, there has still always been a jewish
presence in that area.

As far as preferential treatment, I just don't see it outside of the
US, most of the world, not just the Mid East hates Israel.

That's what I mean, here in the USA. They have way too much
preferential treatment and it pisses me off to an extreme! Most of the
world does hate Israel and to some degree with good reason.

Ritchie, are you speaking about preferential treatment of their
diplomats here? If so what perks are they getting that say the
diplomat of Japan is not getting? Are you speaking of preferential
treatment of the media?

One great example is that the US government is not condemning the
killing of a US citizen at the hands of a foreign military.

I have seen preferential treatment for their heads of houses of
worship by local precincts and businesses. Police escorts to and from
court, when arrested they get placed in a separate cell by themselves
so that they don't get abused by the rest in the holding cell. I am
not talking about the diplomats or the ones exposed to the media. I am
talking about the everyday ones getting special treatment. I am so
sick of seeing this that I don't shed one tear or care about the
hardships they have been through or what they go through now. The
special treatment they get has made me immune to their sufferings or
whatever they go through.

They will NOT let you sip tea....of that I am certain. I keep wondering
what all these idiots on either extreme think it will be like with a "one
party" system...with them in control and when the "politbureau" decides what
they can say.....we need more diversity within both parties, and that
diversity should be celebrated and welcomed...I think the new game is
whoever can shout the loudest wins. And boy oh boy...do we have some loud
folks around here. They don't say very much but they talk a lot.

Good news...

Revis returns to Jets amid alleged contract dispute
June 8, 2010 by GREG LOGAN / greg.logan@newsday.com

When All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis skipped a voluntary organized team activity last
week, it was intended as a shot across the bow of Jets management to let owner Woody
Johnson and general manager Mike Tannenbaum know he considered their contract offer
insulting. But Revis returned for Tuesday's OTA, which is not open to the media,
indicating there is no bad blood yet.

A Jets source confirmed that Revis was on the field Tuesday. However, Neil Schwartz, the
agent for Revis, did not return a telephone message.

Jets coach Rex Ryan has called Revis the NFL's best cover cornerback, and his defense is
predicated on being able to isolate Revis on the opposition's best receiver. After last
season, Revis said the Jets promised to reward him with a new long-term contract before
training camp begins on Aug. 1, and he expects it to recognize his status in the league.

But numerous reports indicated the Jets' first offer included no guaranteed money and did
little more than re-work the money Revis has coming to him under the terms of his six-year
rookie contract valued at $36 million. That deal is scheduled to pay him $1 million this
season, but the team has the option to buy back the final two years for $20 million, which
it presumably would do to prevent him from becoming an unrestricted free agent. Revis has
fulfilled playing-time incentives that give him the right to void the final two years of
his current contract after this season.

Oakland cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha currently is the highest-paid corner in the NFL at
$15.1 million for the coming season. Tannenbaum has been quoted saying he wants to reach a
deal with Revis "within reason." That sounds like something short of highest-paid, which
would be difficult for Revis to accept based on his performance and his value to Ryan's
defense.

Since this is an uncapped year because the collective bargaining agreement has expired,
Revis could jeopardize the $20 million owed for the final two years of his deal should he
hold out during minicamp or training camp. So, the Jets do have some leverage in this
situation.

I'll let the shot across the bow go... eternal-september.org is a free, pretty decent &

I don't get the fascination with a worn out non-winning Qb. We had to
play a back-up in one game last year and won. We have two younger guys
who can lose just as well as Brunnel. And, in theory, the might get
better.

Why? Whey are the perennial division champs absent major injury. We have
won the off season championship too many times.

I will us the edge when we beat them home and away and finish two games
ahead of them in the standings.
