Maybe classy, but pretty dumb. He's backing himself into a tight corner.
One thing about Tanny, he's a smart guy, and if Revis doesn't push this too far, he'll
give something to Revis, to help save face. Otherwise, Revis Island is going to be like
Bikini Atoll, after the Bomb tests, for a few years ;)

i think the revis camp feels the closer they get to the regular
season, the more motivated the jets will be to pay him off... but
yeah... the jets hold all the cards... revis plays or sits for three
years... no other choices. i also agree tanny will give him the face
saving offer at the last minute... the way i see it, neither is really
in a corner... the jets know he has to play and so does revis... revis
and agent know they are not in a corner... no matter how pissy they
get with the jets, they know the jets wont tell revis to stay home...
he'll play and he'll make more for all his hold out bs... the big
question is.... will revis sit out until game 7 ???

that get to becmome millionaires for playing a game. He's doing business,
just like the rest of them.

The Jets, or any other team would be insane to "pay him off"....it would set
a precedent that would never allow them to bargain seriously.

Mevis has got to stop this fucking shit. Seriously, no one else can.
If he continues he will earn the dumb fucking N word award for the
season. I don't know how much his uncle's hold out plays into this,
but I'm pretty sure that it's not as much as the Leon affair. I
either case, this stupid argument between a billionaire and a
millionaire is enough to make me wish they would both go away. As
most in here know, I have never liked Johnson or his picture holding
bitch, Tannenbaum, but I certainly don't like fucking greedy, petulant
players, which is what Miss Mevis is. He signed a deal, which he DID
NOT outplay. He got his fucking mega millions up front. That's the
way he wanted it, and now he's crying like he got fucked. No you
didn't, bitch. But you're willing to take a chance that the team
can't win without you. I really wish Rex would tell him flat out, we
own your fucking ass for the next three years. Be a man, shut up and
play, or sit them out. And fuck you if you don't like it.

Hey, if Rex can say "fuck" 62 times in a hour long show, I can get a
few in here, right?

naw... just an interesting observation... for what it was worth...

Guys having a beer usually have big ideas that never happen....that's my
observation, the bonding comes when they back each other up on the field and
they actually see the other guy get the job done....everything else is pure
BS.

Note that even with Revis they have the Jets as only an 8.8 wins
strength team, barely over .500, with a 52% chance of making the
playoffs.

Their detailed predictions are way "over exact", but their overall
picture of a top CB being worth about 20 points per season, maybe one
win, is reasonable and right in line with a lot of other analysis.

gotta consider the style of defense... conventional 43 or read and
react 34, not such a big deal. the defense that was run by the jets
last year would be out more than 20 points in a season without a top
of the line cover cb. they would be out of business all together.
the jets can still field a good defense without revis, but not the
SAME defense...

I'm surprised some of Revis' Jets teammates don't go pay him a visit

Thanks for alerting us to this story John. It was courageous and
honorable LC came fwd regarding abuse he suffered, in an effort to
help others.

I never had much of a problem with Coles's contract demands. Nor
Revis. Who wouldn't seek their market value?

This said it's kinda sad when we have the flower of nation serving and
dying, for peanuts, far from their families and loved ones.

I hope a good % of NFL multi millionaires give back to those who
deserve it.

This year's Hard Knocks will be a tough act to follow
Posted by Mike Florio on August 12, 2010 1:32 PM ET
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/

Earlier today, the FedEx man showed up at my doorstep with a package from
our friends at NFL Films. Inside? A DVD of the first episode of Hard
Knocks, which debuted last night on HBO.

Missing? A note from Rex Ryan that said, "Merry f--king Christmas."

Even without a cover letter from Rex, it's excellent. It's always been an
excellent production; it's now even more excellent because the folks at HBO
and NFL Films have gotten the right team at the right time under the right
circumstances.

And it's already making us -- and surely HBO and NFL Films -- wonder how in
the hell they'll ever be able to follow it up.

Complicating matters is the reality that some coaches, G.M.'s, team
presidents, and/or owners never will agree to permit cameras into every nook
and cranny of their training camps, regardless of Vince Lombardi's belief
that cameras made his players try harder. We'd be shocked if, for example,
the Dolphins (Bill Parcells), the Patriots (Bill Belichick), the Chiefs
(Scott Pioli), or the Browns (Eric Mangini) ever would sign up forHard
Knocks detail. Recently, Lions coach Jim Schwartz (who worked for Belichick
in Cleveland) said he wouldn't want to do it, either.

Other teams will be glad to oblige. The Cowboys likely would do it every
year. The Texans wanted to do it this year. Pete Carroll probably will
throw the Seahawks into the mix for 2011 (if there is a training camp in
2011).

But even more coaches likely will want nothing to do with Hard Knocks if the
Jets underperform in the season during which they were featured.

Still, even if there is another compelling team that volunteers for Hard
Knocks next year or in the future, we can't imagine any being as interesting
as the 2010 Jets.

Maybe they should just feature the Jets every year. We have a feeling that
Ryan would be willing to do it.

Giants want to "send a message" to the Jets
Posted by Mike Florio on August 12, 2010 11:57 PM ET
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/

Lately, the Jets have tried to attract attention based less on their
accomplishments and more on their words. And that doesn't sit well with the
other New York team, which has accomplished very recently that which the
Jets claim they'll do this year -- win a Super Bowl.

With the two teams squaring off Monday night in their mutual preseason
opener at the new stadium they'll share, some Giants want to show that they
still own New York.

"There's a lot going on right now with the Jets claiming New York and that
it's their town," Giants cornerback Terrell Thomas said, according to Ralph
Vacchiano of theNew York Daily News. "We're not feeding into that. But at
the same time we want to send a message to them that it's still our town.
And it's going to be our stadium."

Not every member of the Giants feels that way. "[I]t ain't about the
supremacy of the Jets and the Giants," defensive end Justin Tuck said.
"That doesn't matter. We could come out of this game and beat them 40-0,
but if they go out and win the Super Bowl and we don't make the playoffs,
then who cares?"

Tuck is right. But we've got a feeling that Jets coach Rex Ryan will be
telling his guys that, before they can own the league, they need to own New
York -- and that since the two teams don't face each other this year, the
only way to do that is to kick the Giants' asses in the preseason.

And, yes, there will be an "F" word or two. Or two hundred.

Revis' leverage? Boldin, Moss, Marshall
Posted by Mike Florio on August 12, 2010 10:37 PM ET
On Thursday morning, the NFL buzzed regarding the Jets' initial appearance
on Hard Knocks. By Thursday afternoon, the hot topic had become the curious
decision of Revis' agents, Neil Schwartz and Jonathan Feinsod, to agree to
keep confidential the negotiations with the Jets after the team got, via
Hard Knocks, the last word.

As one league source explained it, silence doesn't help Revis put pressure
on the Jets.

But even if both sides honor the confidentiality agreement (the over/under
is 5.5 days), Revis' ultimate leverage likely comes from three names.

Boldin. Moss. Marshall.

Boldin, as in Anquan. Moss, as in Randy. And Marshall, and in Brandon.

It's the trio of No. 1 wideouts that the Jets will face in the first three
weeks of the season. Without Revis, it's unlikely that the Jets will be
able to put single coverage on either of those three receivers.

And if the Jets go 1-2 or worse in those three games, even more pressure
will be placed on the Jets to get Revis into camp in the hopes of getting to
where coach Rex Ryan already has promised the Jets will go.

12.08.2010

 Dear friends,,

  Greetings.

Iam writing this in connection with a national initiative  the Himsamukt Bharat Campaign and the Citizen's Commission for Dialogue and Reconciliation propose to undertake  as part of their efforts to  strengthen and revitalise the Shanti Sena training programmes in India for nonviolent conflict Resolution and promoting a spirit of Dialogue.

You might remember it was in 1957 that Vinobaji announced the formation of the Shanti Sena by administering pledge to 8 Shanti Sainiks at a place called Manjeswaram, a boarder village between Karnataka and Kerala.

In order to commemorate  this historic event we now are inviting  about 200 shanti sena activists, trainers,Gandhian constructive workers, academics, researchers and youth from several parts of India to reflect on the future strategies to strengthen and revitalize the Shanti sena in the context of the growing violence and terror in the coutry.

In order to experience a spiritual feel and ambience of the historic step Vinobaji took in 1957 by launching the Shanti sena we also propose to arrange the Shanti sena Meet at the same venue .

In many respects this will be a historic and extremely important  event and we do hope that it will facilitate productive exchange of ideas and we  hope  that you will appreciate this initiative  and  examine the possibility of joining us on this occasion.

Looking forward to the joy of meeting you at the Shanti sena Meet at Manjeswaram on 29th August,

WIth regards,

Yours Sincerely,
