Did it wash up in Vancouver? If not, probably not. This
is certainly giving me second thoughts about the
run-bike-swim-last triathlon, on humanitarian grounds.
On the other hand, this video does suggest a new variant
on cyclocross race, possibly even more awesome than
Halloween costume races: fixed-shoe dismounts. We
bolt the shoes to the pedals like for track cyclists, and
at each barrier the CX racers have to get their feet out
of the shoes, run, and remount and get their muddy feet
back into the shoes. Bunnyhoppers will be heckled,
ostracized, and have to do a penalty loop through the
beer tent.
God, I wish LANCE would go to jail already so we could
get on with cyclocross season.

Some of us have. I saw Mourey put on a school in work-minimization at
Starcrossed. He drafted Trebon for most of the race, making this crazy-
looking Mutt and Jeff duo that was far ahead of the third rider, and
squirted by him in the last 200m or so.
Katerina Nash was solidly dominant, though Wendy Simms gapped everyone
else to cruise home in second.
In fairness to the triathletes, there were some spectacular crashes in
both the Elite men and women races. In an early lap, one brighteyes
tried to use the (concrete, painted) velodrome to arc into a tight
corner. In the rain, this tactic failed spectacularly, and he slid on
his ass at speed for 15 feet or so on the ashphalte apron, going right
under the bar tape.

Mike - AJ is a slimy prick and I don't spend enough time on these
boards to even have the faintest idea why you'd suggest such a thing.
It was I that put the post up that Jute would stone women if he wasn't
putting up all of this helmet bullshit.
But why you don't stay focused on two critical facts. We know
Armstrong has doped. Anyone that's paid any attention and has any
sense of an honest dialogue with their inner being knows that for a
fact.
And here we have 5 + occasions of him committing outright perjury.
Where do you stand on these facts?

It's common knowledge in the medical community that doctors do not write
down things like this in medical records because it has no purpose in
treatment. And in fact, doctors purposely leave stuff like this out of
the records.
It's like asking a skateboarder if he had permission to skate on the
property where he did a trick and broke his arm. Why would a doctor
give a fuck about about that information - is it going to change the way
he treats the patient? No.
Second, it seems pretty obvious that the people who asked Lance this
question were student doctors-in-training (he was at a teaching
hospital) and this question was just one of out curiosity's sake. Lance
answered it honestly, thinking that everyone in the room was part of his
doping team.
Wait until Ferrari comes out with a tell-all book about doping when he's
70. Lance will claim Ferrari is senile.

Your untenable position is starting to make you look like a god damn
fool.
Lance isn't sharp by any measure - he has 4 basic tactics and for the
most part will only find himself in DEEPER and DEEPER shit when he
sits across the table from Novitzky.
1. Outright lies - commits perjury - as the 'foundation' of his
innocence. - Just more fat for the fire when it comes to prison
time.
2. "I don't recall" or "can't remember" - JN will help him remember
with all of the critical and collaborative testimony.
3. Dances around by selective recollection - again JN will help clear
these things up for all.
4. Asks "are we done with this?" - JN will pound away in those areas
until Lance either lies or breaks down.
Your boy is fucked. And I am going to - at the very least - send
Magilla and JN a bottle of vintage champagne the day that "Mellow
Johnny" becomes "Outraged Orange" and trades in a yellow jersey for an
orange jumpsuit.

Lance's "4 basic tactics" have served him well enough so far. You guys
have been saying the same things for years, and he's still out there
making big $$$ while you guys waste your testosterone, what little you
have left, waiting on Lance's fall. Instead of what, I don't know. Maybe
you have nothing better to do than toss in gratuitous swearing and
slander women whose shoes you've never walked in.
And just what *is* my "untenable position" anyway? What is it you think
I've said that's so foolish? I've been commenting on the process, on the
lack of physical evidence. Trying to move it away from a he-said
she-said thing. Nobody ever comments regarding the lack of physical
evidence. How are these people so smart that they can cover the physical
tracks so well? How is it that no rider decided, for insurance, to take
some photos or document a financial trail? And maybe some did! In which
case Novitsky might dig it up. But it raises more questions, like why
did it take until now for this to happen?
And then there's Floyd. You guys want to put him up on a pedestal now,
saying see, we were right, Floyd says so! Well Floyd is still making
stories up even know (I documented one of them, regarding his ridiculous
notion about riding inferior bikes, but you probably didn't care because
all you care about is the idea of Lance crashing down).
Open your eyes and watch the process. It's an amazing thing to behold.
The truth is out there, and it won't be pretty. And it might be what you
dream at night, or it could be a variation, or it could blow you away.
Who knows. I'm voting on option #2 myself (making some assumptions about
what you dream & drool over, which doesn't exactly take a shrink to do).

Brooke Miller is everything that is wrong with women's cycling.
She's still lying to herself about why she retired. The real reason she
retired is because she is not competitive in the sport, and she knows
she will never qualify, let alone win the Olympics. So rather than have
reality show that to the world, she chose to preempt it, retire, and
then claim publicly she "doesn't really want to go to the Olympics
anymore" because she doesn't want to make the necessary "sacrifice."
So she concocted this backdated prescription that "I don't really want
to go any more because I miss going white water rafting and on hikes."
Can somebody please explain to me how being a female pro cyclist who
trains maybe 150 miles/week means you can't go hiking and white water
rafting? I mean, Lance Pharmstrong goes surfing in fucking Hawaii and
hangs out at strip clubs and bars in Austin. And since Brooke skips
every major stage race since she can't climb....that would seem to give
her a lot of free time, no?
She also talks about how she's not willing to be "4 months on the road
away from her boyfriend"...oh my God, the sheer horror of its mere
mention sends chills down my spine. This is how a 13 year old talks.
This girl is another form of Liz Hatch. She has created her own
fantasia in the sport and thinks that everyone else is obligated to buy
into it.

Well, the big difference between SCA case and Novitzky is Lance and his
country bumpkins think it's a game to lie in a civil hearing. But when
they go to federal grand jury to testify under oath and are cognizant
that the feds are not afraid to charge sports people with perjury....now
Lance needs a a criminal defense attorney and a PR machine to do his
lying for them.
Everybody knows Lance is a bigtime doper in this sport.

JT (SCA dep) made it pretty clear that Lance was under oath and
perjury charges are possible. The question is why didn't they pursue
it further?
They rolled over (or am I just being hindsite biased) as there is much
more informationa nd those willing to come forward now?
However, the line of questioning leads me to believe that they knew
(somewhat) the facts surrounding what we know to be true today.

Eddy Merckx has to go to Interbike every year and loiter on the expo
floor with people half his age wearing one of those Euro-ID necklaces to
make sure everyone knows who he is. He's afraid people will forget he
was a guy who beat factory workers back in the 1960's when a 2:25

One day I'm going to crack that glass case that holds his bike in the
Belgian subway and pour acid all over it.

> Top 10 on Points table with previous in parens:
> 1 Mark Cavendish 156 (was 1st with 136 points)
> 2 Tyler Farrar 149 (was 2nd with 124 points)
> 3 Vincenzo Nibali 120 (was 3rd with 119 points)

> 6 Ezequiel Mosquera 97 (unchanged)
> 7 Peter Velits 88 (unchanged)
I'd also say that seeing the entire GC podium in the top 7 on points
suggests how shallow this contest was. Cav and Farrar showed up to
beat on each other, and that was it. In fairness, it's not like the
Vuelta points were ever something anyone took seriously, but this is a
GT!
