Hey Peeps in the NY area...
Sunday is PapaCarl's *Jam for Life,* in Trenton.
http://www.jamforlifefoundation.com/
There's a good chance Carl wouldn't be here posting, if not for his transplants.
So, we've all been blessed by the miracle of transplants.
I'm going this year, and was wondering if any of y'all would care to join me?
It's a good cause, & will give us a chance to actually meet - finally... also, we'll be
able to put to rest the rumor that we're all preprogrammed bots, and find out we're all
actually people! I've often wondered this deep mystery ;)
There'll be 2 stages, one outside, one inside.
Carl will be playing at 3:20 outside... and 4:10 inside. And the virgin Connie Swayle, I
mean Lisa Bouchelle, will be playing at 4:40.
Worked out that we're just playing the Bills (not that it's a trap game), but I suspect
there may be some TVs around, so we can check the score.
And if ya can't make it, you can donate to this great cause, on his website.
So ya can lump out on your sofa, watching the game... or listen to some good music, &
support a great cause... and solve one of the great mysteries of life (are we bots?) ;)

I'm in the same camp as papa and Rex. Only the good Lord knows why my

Let's just hope he's not also raiding her wardrobe when she's away.
This newsgroup doesn't need any J Edgar Hoovers.

I forget the downstairs PC defaults to her google account. I am

There's got to be some other explanation. ;)

Don't all cry but he can't be worse than Wilson right now. Reading
the piece on the jets web site with Leonhard & communication makes me
think that having 2 DB's that know the offense is probably not a bad
thing.
Coleman could replace Wilson for Jets
By BART HUBBUCH

Kyle Wilson's nightmarish debut as a starting NFL cornerback last
Sunday appears to have earned the rookie first-round pick a quick
demotion.
Wilson and coach Rex Ryan both indicated yesterday that Wilson will go
back inside to the nickel (third) cornerback spot this weekend at
Buffalo and be replaced on the outside by Drew Coleman.
Wilson was pressed into starting duty against the Dolphins last Sunday
by All-Pro corner Darrelle Revis' hamstring injury. A review of the
film from the Jets' 31-23 win at Miami showed the Dolphins threw at
Wilson 11 times, completing seven for 107 yards. He also was flagged
27 yards for pass interference.

As a result, the veteran Coleman got some work with the starters in
place of Wilson in practice yesterday and appears likely to get a lot
more in the coming days.
"Kyle's struggling a little bit, without question, but I think Drew
has earned it," Ryan said. "Both of those guys will play a bunch,
[but] we as coaches think that [Coleman] deserves a shot."
Wilson, meanwhile, said late yesterday that he expects to be the
nickel back against the Bills.
"I've just got to look back and learn from it and become a smarter
player," Wilson said of his play against the Dolphins.
*
Ryan said the Jets put in a waiver claim on former Bills quarterback
Trent Edwards in part so they could "pick his brain" about Buffalo
going into Sunday's game.
The Jets' plans were foiled when Edwards was awarded to the Jaguars,
to the relief of third-string quarterback Kellen Clemens.
Clemens, though, said he wasn't offended by the Jets' interest in
Edwards because Ryan had come to him beforehand and said the team
wouldn't make the claim if Clemens objected.
"[Making a claim on Edwards] had nothing to do with replacing me,"
Clemens said yesterday.
Bills coach Chan Gailey, meanwhile, poked fun at the Jets' obvious
gamesmanship in claiming Edwards.
"That was an amazing coincidence that they needed another quarterback
this week," Gailey said yesterday.
*
LB Jamaal Westerman denied Internet-fueled accusations that he faked a
hamstring injury late in the fourth quarter Sunday to help the Jets
strategically.
Westerman didn't practice at all yesterday and is questionable against
the Bills because of ankle and hamstring injuries, which would seem to
credence to his case.
"Wouldn't it have been more strategic for the offensive guy to fake an
injury?" Westerman told The Post yesterday. "It looked kind of funny,
but it definitely was a cramp."
*
Revis did not practice yesterday and remains likely to miss his second
consecutive game Sunday.

What do you mean, "Once the Mets' season ends..."? If it ever started,
it ended a long time ago.

agree with all of your points... also... one team on the list
including the jets may blow a few games or they may have some amazing
production that was unexpected. the mob of nfl public opinion and
bandwagoneers changes week to week. my worry with the jets has alwas
been schott. the ravens game seemed to prove it but then the past two
games blew my assessment out of the water. going into the season,
with cromartie and wilson added on, i figured the jets defensive backs
would be the pearl of the team... they would go from number one
against the pass to the sublime. and look what has been happening....
like jim mora said in one of his melt-downs...
"You don't know. You just don't know. You may think you know, but you
don't know. And you never will."
that about sums it up, but i still plan to keep at it :-)

Michael, before the season started I thought 11-5 after opening with
two losses. This is the NFL where upsets are a part of life & we have
a young QB.
I am not that worried about Houston 3/4 DB's would not start on most
teams. They also have trouble picking up the pass rush vs. a good
3-4. Denver is tough at home

Or 'Eugene "My Man" Wilson' as I had unfortunately taken to calling him
when he was good.

Yeah, I saw that on JetsBlog... the guy is an imbecile, always has been & will be.
And our *Terminator* is on our team, because of him ;)
(We got Leon for him, and Connor for Leon)

lolz... im sure the producers came up with the idea and herm was good
enough to play along... herm had some good qualities. he was a good
player too. just not a great game time coach. i also like him as a
commentator... i cant think of anything bad to say about him other
than he was not a great hc. he'd probably be a good db coach

He embarrassed himself more as pretending to be an NFL head coach. And
he had the audacity to do it to us.

The New York Jets have intercepted the Ravens' plans to re-sign
defensive end Trevor Pryce, who Baltimore waived on Wednesday.
New York has agreed to a contract with Pryce, a league source told
ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. Jets head coach Rex Ryan coached Pryce
when he was an assistant in Baltimore.
Pryce ranks third in sacks among active players but has only one
tackle this season. The 35-year-old has not started any of Baltimore's
three games.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Wednesday that there was a "high
possibility" that Pryce would return.
Pryce was waived to make room for safety Ken Hamlin, who was released
by Baltimore last week. Hamlin will probably contribute on special
teams in this Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
"You've got roster issues that you deal with. It's not something we
wanted to do," Harbaugh said of the move. "Trevor is a big part of
what we're doing here, and we anticipate getting him back. It's just
what we had to do for now."
Harbaugh insisted that Hamlin was simply a better fit on the roster
for this week.
"We're going to put the 45 best guys out there," he said. "I would
rather have Trevor here this week playing, but we're not able to do
that. We just have a numbers situation."
Pryce's locker had not been cleared out at the Ravens' facility
Wednesday.

Interesting. He was always one of my favorite defensive linemen.
Pretty stout against the run but a beast in the passing game. Can get
around guys and can bull rush. He has a real good build for DE in the
3-4. On passing downs, they can use him on the interior, so that they
can rotate Ellis and Devito there. Or they could line him up outside.
He's pretty versatile.
