It's the way it is when you have a QB that will throw the "Oh my
fucking God" pass.
Sorry, we won and I'm not feeling cheap about the win. Our guy still
had to make the play.
Ask Asante Samuel about making plays like that like the one against
Eli in the SB.

Yeah, I considered that too. Or the guy they drafted in the 3rd this
year, Taylor Price.

I'm thinking the Branch trade might have been in the works, and they
were willing to go in that direction instead. Branch should start, but
holy downgrade!

ahem... 4 - 1, the Ravens were beaten. Not one team in the league remains
unbeaten Mike so maybe that particular terminology should be shelved for the

I don't have any idea what that "Privitization" means? But it don't
sound like a good idee. But you're right we should get the Government
out of our lives and get rid of social security, medicare, all laws
which people have to abide with, break up the supreme court and shit
can the constitution which is just a government tool used to rule the
people

And Democrats make it more inviting to ship jobs overseas with all their
regulations and union support. BTW, there is no special tax break for
American owned foreign companies. Tax cuts went across the board for
all American companies.

No, but I do have my IRA in the market. And I can't tell you how I
cleaned up. Before the housing crash, the money I invested purchased
shares at $19.00 each. During the crash, I was purchasing the same
shares for $5.00 each. It was like getting 4 shares for 1. When the
market recovered, I was up to $18.00 per share. What a killing. It's a
shame my SS money wasn't invested in the market at the time. Instead,
it's tucked away under a government mattress doing absolutely nothing
but eroding away by people who are retired today.

[snip blah blah]

I'm pretty sure the Yankees are "conservative" After all, they
did that think where they chained folks in their seats during
"God Bless America" a few years ago.

I'm not sure about the Phillies. Their radio station plays
promos for Rush Limbaugh, but I'm not sure how the ownership
of the team votes. I'm pretty sure Jayson Werth is not
conservative, based on his hair.

Baltimore, for one. I also like Indy and NE more than the Jets.

As far as the NFC I think Dallas gets it turned around and I like
Atlanta.

I'll keep saying it, the jets could just as easily be 0-5.

Papa with his money it could have been. In fact it would take less
time because he didn't have the classroom issues to deal with and
every thing that goes on in camp.
___________________________________________________________________________

You can't hit...and tackle live....and that is a big part of using that set
of muscles in the "football" way.

If this plays out all season he should give back a bundle of his mney.

I agree 100% here. In the sport I know a little bit more about --at
the professional level-- they absolutely will never train two days in
a row on artificial surface. There is a huge link between hamstring &
quad pulls to artificial surfaces in the fast twitch muscle guys.

Resting it through the bye was the proper route to go.

Another issue here is muscle atrophy that will happen across his
body. Think about any of the lifting they do to retain strength &
which one can he do that isn't activating the hamstring?

I was not able to see a few things at the game that I saw on the TV
replay. The Jets O-line did about as good a job as you can expect
them to do. Both pass blocking and run blocking. I cant agree with
any fans that think it was just a "good" performance and not an
excellent one. Also... Slauson looked very good. I saw him pass
block very well and there was some excellent work run blocking
including good examples of trap blocking and pulling. He did not
look slow nor did he look clumsy. He did not get pushed back or over
powered on any single play. The moment the play allowed him to leave
his assignment he started looking for where he might be able to help.
No way is this guy a worry nor does he need to be replaced. He'll
only get better. Ready for this ??? At this point four games into his
first season as a starter he's actually ahead of where both Brick and
Mangold were at the same point in there careers. Props to Callahan
for tipping the Jets off on him. Excellent value from a 6th
rounder. No one is saying pro bowl or hall of fame, but he can do the
job. Lets see now what they can make of Vlad.

What I did not like..

Some of the defensive calls left me wondering. Taking chances is one
thing, but begging to be burned is somthing else. A few of those
blitzes took up all the jet manpower but did not appear to be well
considered. All they did was ensure that the qb had someplace juicy
to go with the ball. Either that, or there were player mistakes in
the coverage.

Erick Smith looked horrible. I dont know why they would have him out
there other then special teams.

Brick, yes. But Mangold, hell no. You could tell Mangold was going to
be a star in his rookie year.

i was one of the first people in here raving about mangold... his
first season. i remember a regular in here telling me "he's not the
beast you think he is". a few games into his career you could tell
he had pro-bowl tools. i'm not for one second saying that slauson has
the same level of tools that mangold has. i'm saying that it took
mangold into his second season to stop making the expected mistakes.
when he first started calling the line signals he got crossed up a few
times. obviously, he had the harder job to learn but it did take him
more than three games to have a near perfect game. slauson just had a
near perfect game. i expect it to continue. no reason not to. i'm
waiting now to watch him go up against the next very fast dt. i have
to look at the schedule and rosters to figure that one out. i think
that is the last test he needs to prove out on. or at least, that is
my thought. he's got to prove he can correct himself quickly agaisnt
a slick pass rusher. the power guys cant get the better of him in
pass rushing or run stuffing.
