I go back and forth on deciding which of Rex or Westhoff Alosi is
taking the fall for.
Because we all know that a strength and conditioning coach didn't
order "the wall". Furthermore, assistants and players are not abouot
to follow orders from Alosi.
So which is it? Rex or Westy?
I hope they are paying Alosi handsomely for sacrificing his NFL career
for their assinine blunder.

i was thinking the same thing... he's getting compensated to keep his
trap shut... IMHO, it was Westy... I heard an inteview with Rex on the
matter.... he just bumbled and stumbled... he's prtecting somone...
probably Westy... If Rex himseld did it, he'd "out" himself...

Yeah.. I voted for Westhoff on this one at the poll over on
NYJetschat.com.
For which coach is Alosi taking the fall?
a) ST Coach Westhoff
b) HC Ryan
c) OC Schottenheimer (since everything else is his fault, why the fuck
not?) :) :) :)

Westhoff has been around in that position for a long time and never did
anything like it before, so I'm inclined to think it was someone else's idea
and I don't think anybody has the brass ones to do it besides the HC....that
is the "wall" part, not the tripping, I'm guessing that was Alosi's touch to
the episode.

Tripping and trying to injure players is far worse than videoing from

the coaches were legally positioned inside there area. actually standing
there to prevent players from the enemy team cheating by going out of bounds
to avoid blockers is smart.
as for Alosi's action. I doubt he was thinking. it was just a spur of the
moment act he now regrets.

Duh.. of course not. Alosi is taking the fall for the Wall. It
would either be Westhoff or Rex.
Westhoff is the Specials guy so it would be him I think of first.

There were five inactive players standing side by side with Alosi.
They were illegally positioned, they are required by rule to stay at
least six feet behind the six foot wide white zone on the out of
bounds side of the sideline. There's a white line drawn six feet
behind the six foot wide white zone. Somebody else posted this here,
it's the diagram of where the coaches are allowed to be and where the
inactive players have to be.

But not legal for inactive players to do.

Sure he regrets it now. But he could have put somebody's eye out

He's not, he's throwing 34 passes per game. He threw 44 passes because
his team was way behind most of the game.

Yes, and Schott seems to do that, as the receivers are open quite
often. Then they drop the ball or Sanchez makes a bad throw. Take
a look at the video at nfl.com where the playbook guys show easy
plays being messed up.

I seem to see those pretty often, as well as a hurry-up offense too.

Rex, you said you told them to stay away from the sideline. If you
ordered it, WHY DIDN'T THEY LISTEN?
Col. Rex: Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls
have to be guarded by men with gunners. Who's gonna do it? You?
Did you order Alosi to make that wall?
Col. Rex: I did my job...
*Did you order the wall?*
Col. Rex: *You're Goddamn right I did!*
----
Man up, Rex Grow a pair. You too, Westhoff. (A strength coach is
calling the shots for you? Maybe he should be the special teams
coach?) Stop trying to find a fall guy. It's pathetic. I know you're
Jets, but try to act like men.
