It's personal alright. If he goes one and done, he risks being
personally out of the job...maybe not this year, but next if he falters
again.

Yo, smithee is a Pats guy (gal) and outside of his man (gal) love for
BB is an OK fan but jumping in here on something our ex-QB did sets
off the douche bag alarm.

He (she) is still a pretty rare poster here. But I understand the Pats fans
fear of Rex. First legitimate threat to BB and the Pats in years. After
all, if Rex didn't come here to kiss BB's rings, BB isn't staying in
coaching to kiss Rex's feet, though Rex would LOVE that ;-)

Wishful thinking, Ryan (to my disappointment) is here for the long

Do you really think that the pats, their fans or Belichick think of
Ryan as a threat? I dont think Belichick even considers Ryan or the
Jets good enough to do his laundry. I am a Jet fan, but a realistic
one.

Ritchie, I like him overall. He is a good coach & the first since
Parcells. I think there have been some distractions this year -- on
the field--and he has been putting out fires. I don't think he trusts
his OC & gets involved leaving Pettine to run the defense hurting us
on both sides of the ball.
Next year is the big year for him and it will be related to the salary
cap & signing: Edwards, Holmes, Smith, & Cromartie.

Initially it seemed like Ryan was going in the right direction, but as
time has gone by it has become more and more apparent that he is just
an over-inflated windbag. I would say that given his personal behavior
sooner or later he's going to do something that is going to so deeply
disgust people he will be fired before ownership gets tired of waiting
for a championship.

I agree, his type always do themselves in. He will do or say something
that wont be liked at all and Woody will have no choice but to fire
him. What scares me with that is that if Schott is still here when
that happens and knowing Woody's love affair with Schott, he will me
made the HC.

Personally I think he doesn't get involved at all with the offense. A
few weeks ago he stated that he had a meeting with Sanchez for the
first time this season and that was about 9 or 10 weeks into the
season. That is something that coaches do on a regular, most likely
weekly basis with their QB's. Belichick is a defensive genius but even
he and Brady break down film together (don't know if its the game
films or the secretly taped ones though) over the course of the
season. Ryan, IMO is in over his head just like his dad was when he
became a HC. Buddy was a defensive genius but a horrible HC. I think
that Ryan is no where near as good as his dad was and has bitten off
more than he can chew just like his dad did.

Yes next year (sigh) will be the test, if there is a season that is.

Added a couple of talented players to the O mix. Too much for a certain OC to deal with
;)
Seriously, remember how the O started playing well, in games 2 & 3... Keller was a key
player. Then Holmes was activated, and the O fell apart... and Keller was ignored.
Instead of adding to the mix, it's like he came up with a formula... play LT this amount,
Holmes this amount, Shonn this amount... etc this amount. Rather than letting the
situation, game flow, etc dictate play selection/player set.
Certain games it makes sense to start LT, while others it makes sense to start Shonn.
Never happened.
The Colts are a Shonn team. Had he not been injured at the start of the 2nd half, in last
year's Champ game, we probably win. As soon as he was hurt, that was it.

The only reason for the action to sue him is to force him, under oath, to
admit he sent these messages and thus embarrass him.
Well that and the possibility that he ponies up a few bucks to make it all

JK, Warren Sapp sounded like Papa on Sunday saying that BB figured out
how to neutralize our CB's by working the middle.
He suggested moving both inside trusting the safeties & nickels to
cover. ??? Papa, our resident defensive expert do you have any
thoughts on this?

the current state gov is merely the putrefaction that stats after
death. the killer infection started higher up the chain about 145
years ago. next stop, neo feudalism. complete with the lordship and
their noble knights all decked out in contemporary suits of shining
amour ready to go into the fields to keep the surfs in line.

Papa, our RE taxes are high, approximately 1.8%, & higher if it is a
rental property which screws renters, but no income tax but state corp
tax.
In college I had to read a book Fiscal Crisis of the State by a
Marxist named O'Connor. It was prescient. cops, fireman, teachers &
other civil servants making $80,000+ in retirement and this is a
sustainable model? So we have retirees making more money in
retirement than many kids will make in their careers.
It started after Watergate & like a snowball rolling down hill the
fiscal discipline to sustain govt has been obliterated by the need to
satisfy a larger & larger % of the populace, aka civil servants.
Neither party has the balls to deal with this.
The period of benevolent despots doesn't look bad right now.

could not agree more. imho, other than digging up teddy roosevelt and
propping his corps up someplace, a few years of dictatorship looks
like the only way to clear things out. im wondering though, if nj's
own christie would make a good presedential ticket next time around
with may be rubio as vice. christie at least had the stones to get in
front the two most brutal unions.

I am not up there and I don' know alll that Blumberg & Christie faced,
and Lee Brown was torched for staying away during riots so this isn't
new, but we have reached a level in this country where everything
should be fixed immediately. Sometimes no matter how much money is
thrown at a problem it can't be fixed immediately.
Christie went toe to toe with the unions, and in a rough economy that
plays well with most, it is when the $ are coming in that it takes the
strength to say no. There is trade off for the security that most
civil servants receive and that was forgotten by both sides. The
security disappears when the $ aren't there and the trade off for a
lower wage for the security was forgotten by the workers. If it means
paying a fair wage to the current schmoes doing the work & keeping
gov't going then I say legally push the pain to the pensioners that
are the biggest line item.
I could go one & on but the current system in many cities & states is
about creating pensioners & in law enforcement it is tossing guys out
when they are at the most valuable.
