MADISON - The State Department of Justice confirms that it is investigating several death threats against a number of lawmakers in response to the legislature's move to strip employees of many collective bargaining rights.

Among the threats the Justice Department is investigationg is one that was emailed to Republican Senators Wednesday night. Newsradio 620 WTMJ has obtained that email.

The following is the unedited email:

Please put your things in order because you will be killed and your familes
will also be killed due to your actions in the last 8 weeks. Please explain
to them that this is because if we get rid of you and your families then it
will save the rights of 300,000 people and also be able to close the deficit
that you have created. I hope you have a good time in hell. Read below for
more information on possible scenarios in which you will die.

WE want to make this perfectly clear. Because of your actions today and in
the past couple of weeks I and the group of people that are working with me
have decided that we've had enough. We feel that you and the people that
support the dictator have to die. We have tried many other ways of dealing
with your corruption but you have taken things too far and we will not stand
for it any longer. So, this is how it's going to happen: I as well as many
others know where you and your family live, it's a matter of public records.
We have all planned to assult you by arriving at your house and putting a
nice little bullet in your head. However, we decided that we wouldn't leave
it there. We also have decided that this may not be enough to send the
message to you since you are so "high" on Koch and have decided that you are
now going to single handedly make this a dictatorship instead of a
demorcratic process. So we have also built several bombs that we have placed
in various locations around the areas in which we know that you frequent.
This includes, your house, your car, the state capitol, and well I won't
tell you all of them because that's just no fun. Since we know that you are
not smart enough to figure out why this is happening to you we have decided
to make it perfectly clear to you. If you and your goonies feel that it's
necessary to strip the rights of 300,000 people and ruin their lives, making
them unable to feed, clothe, and provide the necessities to their families
and themselves then We Will "get rid of" (in which I mean kill) you. Please
understand that this does not include the heroic Rep. Senator that risked
everything to go aganist what you and your goonies wanted him to do. We feel
that it's worth our lives to do this, because we would be saving the lives
of 300,000 people. Please make your peace with God as soon as possible and
say goodbye to your loved ones we will not wait any longer. YOU WILL DIE!!!!

Politically Motivated Killings and Torture Continue With Impunity

In February, police in Zimbabwe raided a gathering of people watching a video of Middle East demonstrations, arresting everyone in the room. Some were allegedly beaten and tortured. This incident is part of a broader pattern of violence against perceived opponents of President Robert Mugabe's ruling party.

In a new report, Human Rights Watch shows how the failure of Zimbabwe's government to investigate and prosecute politically motivated abductions, killings, and torture since the 2008 elections is fueling further violence and human rights violations.

Zimbabwe is expected to hold elections this year, and we are concerned about possible violence during that period. Many of the people who committed serious crimes during the 2008 elections continue to live in the same communities with – and sometimes next door to – their victims.

During the 2008 elections, the government, led by Mugabe's ruling party, was responsible for abuses that led to the killing of up to 200 people, the beating and torture of 5,000 more, and the displacement of about 36,000 people. But complaints have largely been ignored by the police or have stalled in the courts.

The government's failure to punish the attackers only emboldens those intent on committing politically motivated violence and torture.

HIV and AIDS in Mississippi

State Policies Ignore Scientific Evidence for Preventing HIV

In the United States, the South is now the epicenter of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, which is fueled by poverty, misguided policies that ignore scientific evidence for effective HIV intervention, and approaches that deny needed support for those infected and at risk.

The devastating effects of the failed approaches and neglect are evident in Mississippi, where rates of untreated HIV are comparable to those in Botswana, Ethiopia, and Rwanda.

African-Americans are only 37 percent of Mississippi's population but 76 percent of those infected with HIV. Mississippi's death rates from AIDS are far higher than the national average.

A new report highlights the voices of people living with HIV in Mississippi. These people struggle to survive, while the state opposes health care reform, stubbornly insists on ineffective abstinence-only sex- and HIV-education, and criminalizes HIV transmission, an approach that undermines public health and human rights.

At the same time, Mississippi provides little or no funding for HIV prevention, housing, transportation, or prescription drug programs for people living with HIV, and the state fails to take full advantage of federal subsidies to bolster these programs.

well.

That's why, a chief magisterial court while allowing CBI to drop
criminal charges against Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi in
over two-decade-old Bofors pay off case referred to the plight of
common man.

"Can we allow this hard earned money of 'aam aadmi' of India to be
spent on these types of proceedings which are not going to do any good
to them, after almost 25 years of the so called 'arms deal'. The
answer would be a big 'NO'," CMM Vinod Yadav said, reading out the

"While we are busy in discussing the Sensex and scams, India's poorest
are barely surviving, thanks to an appalling governance deficit. In
some areas of our country, we have no electricity, no roads, no proper
water facilities; 50% of India lives on less than US $ 2 a day; 100

electricity and in some of the areas, the villages are another heart
of India's darkness," the magisterial court said in its order on
Bofors case.
