A face to face Programme with all party candidates in Tuticorin 

 It was a treat for the public to see candidates of major parties on a single dais to answer their queries on development projects that would be carried out if they were voted to power.

At the `meet-the-candidates' programme, Organised by Voters Awareness Movement comprising several civil society organisations, including EMPOWER ,Thoothukudi Consumer Rights Association here on Sunday, candidates of the the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam,Lok Satta Party and the Janatha Dal – united of Tuticorin constituency sat together to talk about their agenda on infrastructure development.

Mr. A. Sankar, Convener, Voters Awareness Movement and President, Tuticorin District Consumer Rights and Environment Protection Association presided over the function.  He spoke about the relevance of the face to face Programme with all party candidates in Tuticorin. The organizers also presented an agenda for development of tuticorin to each candidate.

Mrs .Geetha Jeevan DMK candidate explained the voters the infrastructure development works and she had carried out as MLA and Minister of Social welfare.She highlighted the works she had carried out for the welfare of the people of Tuticorin constituency.Mrs .Geetha Jeevan promised the electors that an Auto City would be established in Tuticorin, if she was voted to power.

Mr.Athi Narayanan of Lok Satta Party told the electors that efforts would be made to address all the problems pertaining to basic amenities, if his party was voted to power.

Mr.V. Nagarajan (Janata Dal United) and Mr.M.Rajaratnam (Independent) took part in the meeting.Mr.N.Jayaraman,President,Small Industries association,Mrs.Meera Shankar,Program Director,EMPOWER,Mr.M.Samuel Rajkumar,Secretary Tuticorin  District Consumer Rights Association were participated.

Earler Mr. K.Ganesan, Secretary, Makkal Sakthi Iyyakkam welcomed the gathering and Mr.Piramanayakam, Secretary, Passengera Association proposed the vote of thanks.
