You don't need to go that far back:

And Italy is the only country where they ban altitude tents. No wonder
Serie A sucks so bad the Bundesliga will be getting more champions

Anyway if this is another Italian Job remake then we can expect to see

Dumbass,
With 13 guys out front you have to wonder which big
riders will start to chase down a teammate. I understand
that's the smart and honorable strategy.

Just a reminder, this is a fraud investigation, not a doping
investigation. Paying someone for a doping program is not a
crime in the US. Nor does the US have sporting fraud laws,
like Italy does.
With respect to the fraud investigation, the money transfers
have to date from US Postal's sponsorship term. Otherwise
they're just whacking material for Laff.

If this was via PayPal for something Ferrari sold on Ebay, Ferrari is
completely TOASTED. Those guys at Ebay have complete information about
everybody and everyone who ever lived AND everything that's ever
happened! Ferrari is DEAD MEAT because computers ARE MAGIC! Just wait
and see!
It'll be in the Wed. papers because this will all happen on Tuesday.

It only looked easy 'cause he was being double-teamed by the two most
incompetent non-sprinters in all of pro cycling. The Schleck brothers
have a lot of talent, but they have no killer instinct.

Agreed - (see other post )
But it's really fucking hard to win a bike race - and now we have a
guy that takes the triple ? Last time we saw that was Davide Rebellin
- famous user of EPO and CERA and dq'd out of Beijing silver

Doesn't matter that Rebellin was doping, everyone else was, too,
remember??
Now that there's no more doping in pro cycling, it's still a level
playing field. (snicker)

If only Vino's wheel hadn't exploded. Then he might have
won LBL, and since he'd prevent Gilbert from winning the triple,
we could have confidence that the winners are all clean.
Now that Novitsky has scared everyone straight, I expect
that this year we'll see some real suffering in the mountains.

"Killer instinct" may be a requirement for the Classics, but a GC
contender is going to benefit greatly from "talent." But talent still
has to be managed, and who is managing the Schlecks? If they'd been
properly managed, wouldn't they have put a high priority on time trial
performance? Recent results don't show that to be the case.
Day after day after day, Andy has shown he can be there, he can avoid
the big mistakes. But he's not going to do anything spectacular, and
he's not going to win any TTs, so he remains vulnerable to guys like
Alberto Contador and... well OK, not coming up with much of a list after
that!

This is the reason it might not stick-
"The former teammate said he detailed some of his own drug use to
investigators, even though he has never tested positive for performance
enhancing drugs or methods."
If I were Novitsky, I would be testing and retesting and then testing
again any remaining samples that might exist from this guy, hoping to
find something to back up his claims. It's ironic that the rider's
claims would go further if there was evidence he (the accusing rider)
had actually doped.
It is just so bizarre that, in a world full of phones that take photos
and record conversations (photos generally since 2002; memo/conversation
recording long before that), nobody has anything incriminating. Nobody
accidentally left a phone in record mode during a meeting, nobody took
any photos of doping paraphernalia on the sly. Look at all the stuff the
Enron guys did that got them nailed. Look at Nixon's tapes. Lots more
examples if you look for them, but nothing from cyclists?
Are people here going to now claim that pro cyclists are too intelligent
to do such things? That would be a first!

The problem is the Little 5 is both brilliant and stupid. Their amateurish amateur rules leave the event isolated from mainstream cycling, which is kind of what they want.
Recruiting a non-cyclist like Eric into the ranks of cycling is pretty much the best-case scenario for people who want IU to be a source of cycling development. But I think riding in your future pro team kit before the Little 5 is rubbing noses in it: rather akin to doing your Final Four shoot around in Lakers warm-ups.
