In this case, no news is not good news. It seems a bad omen that Bob
Stapleton has not made an announcement yet about his team.

But in 72 hours, they're back out on those mean streets again. One of
these homeless guys should go to their local police station, claim to be
Lance Armstrong and confess that they doped to win the Tour. Then they'd
be locked up for LIFE!

Or go to the local hospital and pretend to have a Obsessive–compulsive
personality disorder involving a obsessional neurosis about the doping
habits of a well known cyclist.

Yeah, that's probably illegal too.

I have a 74 degree angle on my custom bike (and a very long top tube) -
I had a long discussion with the builder (Stephen Bilenky in
Philadelphia, http://www.bilenky.com ) about seat tube angles and
triathletes because, even though I've never been a triathlete, I used to
regularly run in addition to bicycling, just because I enjoyed it.

His explanation agreed with yours to a point - he said that because
triathletes also run, their build/strength/tightness/what-you-have tend
to make them more comfortable with a steep seat tube angle. Apparently
people who just bicycle still tend to do best with a 73 degree (or so)
angle rather than steeper.

I don't recall more than that.

Dear Asshole,

The question was rhetorical and sarcastic. Lance isn't going to ask to
testify. If he's called to testify he will assert his privilege under
the Fifth unless he's granted immunity (unlikely) because there are
bigger fish the US Attorney wants to fry.

Looking forward to your next stupid remark...........

Does an Asshole rank above an Asshat (and more importantly does an
Asshole get his Fabioeque before an Asshat) ?

Probably. BMC appears to be a semi-hobby for Rihs, whose bread and
butter is either real estate or his founder's stake in Phonak, a
pretty big player in the hearing aid industry. The only other sponsor
marks on the BMC jersey are for Hincapie's clothing (the jersey
makers) and a French resort that has a Michelin starred restaurant.

More of a Vib Gourmand type, myself,

This is a ride report for a trip my son and I took a week ago Friday in
France, on the opposite side of the valley from Alpe d'Huez. If you're
ever in the area and have the opportunity to ride Alpe d'Huez, sure, you
have to, it's such a famous climb. But this one comes closer to a
religious experience.

Off-topic? Maybe, but we did this climb just before heading up Alpe
d'Huez to watch the race. Does that count?

Mmmmmmmm, balcony roads. Very cool.

I had a chance to see the road to the Gavia about that time. Via
car, as circumstances would have it. A single lane road with
precipitous drops. They manage two-way traffic by throwing in
occasional wide spots that are just enough for two average size
vehicles to get by each other. On our way up we had to squeak
around a stopped car where one of the occupants was having
anxiety issues and was unwilling to continue. Which was tough
because it ain't like you can just pull off the road and turn
around.

It was very cool, although I had an occupant that was having
less severe anxiety issues so that feeling wasn't unanimous.
And yes, there was snow at the top.

You should ween yourself from your Lance addiction. Someday you might
wake up and realize that he's not relevant any more. You'll be just like
that Winehouse chick.

I predict a massive deal with Amgen is on the cards.

I'm sorry dude but NFL fans, at least this one, beyond the borders of Jets
fandom do not consider a 7-7 record enhanced to a 9-7 record and a free pass
into the playoffs to reflect 2 legitimate - earned playoff appearences. In
fact without the failure to appear victories Rex misses the playoffs, has
the same record as his predecessor and fans here are contemplating going
back to being Giants fans for at least one more season. OK... just kiddin
with that one. The point being Rex is arrogant which if you like that sort
of thing is cool. His arrogance has already projected his predictions of two
SB appearances which did obviously did not transpire. He went from "...this
team will go to the SB, ...to..., ..."this team will likely go to a SB,
...to..., ..."---> prediction 2011 insert here <---".

With a top talent in a very much needed role...you make the scheme fit that
talent...the great coaches made adjustments in those situations, the almost
but never ones stuck to the scheme only. He is the kind of guy who makes
the OC think and usually have to plan for more than one person to deal with
him...the Jets need that.

What difference does having Plax make with Schott????? He will still screw
it up...every single play that could go to Plax will be telegraphed to the
D...it will happen. Let's just hope Moore takes over...that's what I'm

Brad Smith to Bills: $15 million/4 years (not sure how much
guaranteed). Good for him. This is his big opportunity to assure
himself he can walk away from the game financially set for life.
Reports are that Jets never made an offer. That's a lot of coin for a
player whose chief value is Special Teams. Smith is a ST beast. And
not just in returns. But the new rules put ridiculous limits on the
return game anyway. The wildcat crap makes no difference to me.
Schitrty can always have LT do that wildcat sheet (LT can throw the
ball as well as Smith) or even the rookie WR can do it as well as
returns. Hopefully this puts an end to constantly breaking Sanchez's
rhythm on offense. The only thing that bothers me is that he went to
the Bills. He knows our ST cold and that will help the Bills twice
per season. Facing Smith on ST is also annoying as hell.

Agree...at least is isn't the Pats. This could still haunt them and I
would not be surprised if it does.

I agree. While I love the deal for the Iggles for the next two or three
years, if they cannot cut him without penalty it was too expensive.

IOW, if this could be a two or three year deal at $12 mil per, the
Iggles got well why we let the world turn without us. And, as you point
out, that was the problem. While Namdi burned (us), J Joseph signed
elsewhere and other players moved too.

If the Iggles are on the hook for more than that, they overpaid and I
guess I am thankful we did not.

From ESPN this morning:

http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/6820679/plaxico-burress-new-york-jets-agree-one-year-deal-sources-say

Receiver Plaxico Burress has agreed to a contract with the New York
Jets.

League sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter on Sunday the deal
is for one year at $3 million and is fully guaranteed.

Burress, who will turn 34 in August, was released from prison in June
after spending nearly two years in jail on a weapon-possession charge.

The former New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers receiver met with
both teams and reportedly with the San Francisco 49ers before deciding
to join the Jets.

Burress caught the winning touchdown in the 2008 Super Bowl as the
Giants stunned the Patriots, dealing New England its only loss that
season. Nine months later, his unlicensed handgun accidentally went
off in a Manhattan nightclub, striking his thigh. The gun was not
licensed in New York or in New Jersey, where Burress lived. His
license to carry a concealed weapon in Florida had expired in May
2008.

Burress is on parole for two years. He has to get and keep a job,
undergo substance-abuse testing, obey any curfew established by his
Florida parole officer, support his family and undergo any anger
counseling or other conditions required by his parole officer.

Selected eighth overall by the Steelers in the 2000 draft, he has 505
receptions for 7,845 yards and 55 touchdowns in nine seasons.

Footie signs Glock Leg. Pretty funny theme the Jets have going on there.

Why is it that along with worrying about the health of a player, will he
heal, will he be at full speed, will the rookie learn quick enough, will the
QB regress...and all these things that really are just part of the game...we
now have to worry about who will re-offend...who will go to jail...who will
get a DWI...or shoot themselves? I know...they got him cheap...one
year...all that crap, who cares what these guys are like right??? Is there
a rating for the team with the most convicted felons?

Two months removed from jail, Burress agrees to join Jets

One year deal.
http://bit.ly/oeP9HM

Well, he's paid the price for his stupidity and everyone deserves a
second chance.

With a one year deal, I think this is good for the Jets and Plaxico.
He's a big target and we get to see if he's still got the pace he had
with the Giants. If he hasn't go the pace we let him go. If he's
maintained the skills, the speed and he's learned something, then
we've got a good player and a big target to allow Sanchez to "let it
air a little".

If he can stay healthy it's Plax for Braylon. Plax is more aggressive in
going to the ball, as I recall. Much cheaper, so I like it.

Staying healthy is obviously going to be the key and I attribute Rex's
decision to sign him to be based on the performance of Plax against the
Ravens when he played for the Steelers. If the Jets were seriously in need
of a Plax like player to take them from a third place divisional finish to
the top I might agree with Rex's gamble. The Jets finished in the playoffs
however so I don't agree with the Jets need to take such a radical gamble?

It is very likely that Plax can shake off his two year old cobwebs from his
natural abilities and his experienced pro-skills set. The main question is
can an enhanced/expedited NFL conditioning regime morph Plax into the degree
of NFL playing shape that will allow him to avoid serious injury after a
two-year layoff.

The Jets staff is obviously capable of evaluating most every aspect of a
players immedite condition and also at creating an enhanced conditioning
regime for same, I simply question if there is really enough time for the
appropriet amount NFL conditioning that Plax will require. After-all, any
remedial conditioning he could attempt while incarcerated would not have
maintained that which he entered the system with.

So..., Braylon departs and gets picked up somewhere, Plax gets injured in
camp, preseason, or early in the season, now whom can the Jets turn to
respective to current depth at the position to provide the performance that
was similar or better than Braylon Edwards, however adeqaute or inadequate
Jets fans consider his play during the 2010 season. From where I sit and I
watched Edwards quite a bit considering his past AFCN team affliation and he
appeared to be performing very well and actually improving upon prior
seasons. Plax just seems to be an unreasonable gamble at this point and just
after the Jets first genuinely earned playoff appearence.

Source: Antonio Cromartie, Jets agree
By Rich Cimini
ESPNNewYork.com

Rebounding from the Nnamdi Asomugha snub, the New York Jets moved to
fill their vacant cornerback spot, coming to a contract agreement
early Monday morning with Antonio Cromartie, according to a league
source.

He will sign a four-year, $32 million contract, according to a league
source -- $4 million per year less than Asomugha's deal with the
Philadelphia Eagles and $1.75 million per year less than Johnathan
Joseph's contract with the Houston Texans.

In a year with the best class of free agents in my memory, and while
teams like the Pats and Eagles have markedly improved their rosters, the
Jets lone significant acquisition is a 34 year old WR who hasn't played
football in 2 years. Where are the pieces the Jets so badly needed, like
the pass rusher and safety? I'm sorry, but someone has to explain to me
how this makes the team one iota better than they were last year.

I don't know why the Jets have developed an aversion to Braylon Edwards,
but I would have preferred re-signing him over bringing in Plaxico. This
has nothing to do with personalities or transgressions, but is based on
purely pragmatic reasons. Edwards is 6 years younger, was a key
contributor last year who made a number of important catches, and has a
good working relationship with Sanchez. Burress, when visiting the
Giants, Eagles, and Jets, DID NOT WORK OUT for any of them. For all we
know, the guy is a hamstring pull waiting to happen.

The Jets are really rolling the dice on this one. For all our sakes, I
hope the come-out comes up 7 instead of Snake Eyes.

[socialactionfoundationforequity:14133 HOW TO D.E.S.T.R.E.S.S. YOUR LIFE

Buzz It
HOW TO D.E.S.T.R.E.S.S. YOUR LIFE

What happens when your work, life, health balance gets out of whack?
First everything seems difficult, people seem demanding, stress levels
build and suddenly you lose

'sight and perspective' of your life; goals which once inspired you
now cause pressure and you start to feel tired and lethargic.

In today's economic climate, there is an ever increasing amount of
responsibilities and social pressures making it even more difficult to
balance work, life and health

together. To help manage times where you may start to feel stressed,
We have put together a DESTRESS strategy to help keep your life in
balance:

D – Do the 'Urgent AND Important' things first
Take a step back and prioritise those things that are not just urgent,
but also important. Things that seem 'urgent' but really won't impact
your day are often the

things that keep you 'busy' rather than 'productive'. Being 'busy' is
often a sign of procrastination; dealing with the seemingly 'urgent'
tasks can be a subconscious

barrier to avoid more difficult tasks.

E - Exercise every day
The body can deal with stress effectively as long as it is dealt with
quickly. How? By exercising! Aim for at least 15 minutes every day.

S – Stop and think about your Physical and Mental health
During stressful times our health often falls by the wayside, so ask
yourself these questions every day:
• Am I eating healthy foods that give me energy?
• Am I exercising regularly?
• Am I getting enough rest?
• Am I reading inspirational and motivational books to keep my
enthusiasm alwasy high.

T- Take 5 mins out for you
Go and sit somewhere quiet where you won't be disturbed for 5 minutes
and try not to think about anything. There are few things in life that
are so urgent they can't wait 5 minutes, but what if spending 5
minutes a day to yourself actually increased your quality of life?

R - Remember God
we are all the children of God that's why call Him supreme father.
Our father is the world almighty authority and ocean of
knowledge, ocean of happiness, ocean of virtues and ocean of love.
Being the children of god we are inheriter of all the property that
God have. It is our birth right to receive this inhertance from God.
By rememberance of God we can receive all the virtues, knowledge, love
and happiness from God.

E - Eat Well
High stress often leads to eating more, so focus on eating small
healthy meals regularly throughout the day. This will help you to
stabilise your blood sugar levels and fight off cravings that often
result from stress.

Self-respect
Self Respect is a fundamental for a great life. If we lack self-
respect we will be insecure and strive to be someone we are not. To
develop self-respect means to cultivate the self confidence to deal
with whatever life throws at us. The following are some ways we can
improve our self-respect. Remember, self-respect comes from an inner
belief and not an egoistic feeling of superiority.
* Be True to Yourself
* Learn to Handle Criticism
* Remember your Motivation, Not Results
* Respect Others
* Never Hate Yourself
* Forgive
* Remeber that you are child of God and as Great as He is.
* Do meditation to develop self respect

S - Sleep well

Getting 6-7 hours of sleep helps your body deal with stress. If you
have trouble sleeping, try the following:
• Go to bed early and wake up early regularly.
• Do meditation for some time before bed.

By following this simple DESTRESS plan you will be able to keep your
work, life and health in balance so that you feel unstoppable, re-
energised and ready to take on the world!

Om Shanti

I don't think Chad has anywhere near the problems Randy has. Self
promoter yes. Dogging it on the field? Legal problems? Not so much.

No, the real project is Albert. He's a big scary bad man who doesn't
seem to make good decisions on or off the playing field.

Hopefully the Patriot Kool-Aid will cure that.

I think Chad knows he's going to have to cool it with the
showboating... twittering during halftime will not go over in New England.
I agree that Albert is the project... and I'm hoping that the long timers
can get through to him that if he cares about the game at all.... this is
his chance to prove it and win!

Chad and Bill are strangely personal friends, apparently from the 2007
Pro Bowl.

There is this clip on Youtube illustrating their good relationship.

Who would have thought Bill had this sharp sense of humor?

That having been said i'd bet Moss will be back in Patriots
uniform before too long.

Liistening to BB praise Moss tells me Moss will be back.

Chad and Bill are strangely personal friends, apparently from the 2007
Pro Bowl.
There is this clip on Youtube illustrating their good relationship.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snzEkMtzUIw
Who would have thought Bill had this sharp sense of humor?
------------------

That's a great clip! Thanks. I think anyone who watches the
weekly Pats show with BB... or has seen the videos of him singing with
Charlie Weiss knows that BB can let loose on occasion.

Apparently Slatts is familiar with it, hence his understanding

Bush had no choice but to spend the money to deal with Clinton's
war. Wars are not cheap, but you Canadians wouldn't know much
about that now would you?

Everything Obama's "done" was historically proven to be a
methodological failure before he even embarked on it. He
employed the same methods Japan did to bail out their wrecked
80's economy against the advice of 200 of the world's most
eminent economists. They told him it would fail, how it would
fail, and why. Mr. brainiac community organizer ignored them
all.

Arrogance does not feed an economy or pay bills. Instead of
bailing out some of the mismanaged financial institutions he
poured money into, the entire world economy would have been
better off if he had let them fail and be taken over in pieces
by smaller more efficient institutions with less executive
overhead and better management. So what if a few billionaires
took a financial bath? Why should they walk away scott free?
But they did.

Wow. You are delusional. Clinton's war???? Is that how you make
everything make sense? Lie to yourself.

There's no debating with someone who makes up stuff to convince
themselves they're right. Again. People like you are dragging down your
own country and you're too blinded by politics to see it.

As for your other comment, we've contributed as much or more to wars in
the 20th Century in pace with our population. Whining that Canada
doesn't spend as much on defense is like complaining that Holland doesn't.

Of course, we know such insults only say more about you. You have
nothing but lies and insults.

Nothing.

Clinton's War??? how is a war started after Clinton was out of the WH his
war?
we were attacked during Bush's nap and we invaded Iraq for no apparent
reason that has ever been shown to be anything other than a lie.

What a hoot! The desperation is showing with Belicheat bringing in two
losers who are legends in their own minds. Of course they fit right in with
