I'm posing as a Patriots fan, huh? Right, OK, I'm a fake.
Memo to World: I'm sorry to have faked my identity as a Patriots fan.
If you want to know what team I really follow, inquire with this guy
Drew. He seems to know more about me than I do, so I now yield the
floor to Drew.
Take it away Drew.
Much obliged Butters' and I'll simply repost my response to your Dean McEwen

Nope... they do not Butters'. Most know by now that if they do they

additional plagues of ugly women as Pittsburgh has been experiencing
since the 1980's for their SB Championship seasons steroids usage.

beat down in week 1 to have been an aberration due to the lock-out or
whatever
excuse they can muster.
There again Butter's, for a self professed newbie you sure offer up more
information than someone posting a mere 3 weeks could remotely offer up.
Give it a rest Butters' and just go back to your Ricky Bobby character. He

I used an extreme example to illustrate a point. If Revis is
consistently preventing his receiver from making receptions, and when
he does make receptions it goes for league average, then his YPA stat
is going to be average.
This is one of the rare cases where I think total yards against is
maybe a more telling metric. Or, even better, receptions per QB throw
or yards per QB throw. TDs is important too, as always. These still
don't paint a good picture though.

I don't think that's the case at all JK....very easy to develop a stress

the best option to make sure he is around at the end of the season.

Well, I've always been told that the muscle that supports the bone can't do
it's job. The entire area is weakened and too much stress is placed on the
supporting bone. In addition, if you keep aggravating it the inflamation
increases and it just gets worse and worse and becomes a long drawn out
injury. What does it matter, he can't play, and they aren't letting him
play.

This from the Rothman Institute probably says more about why he can't play
yet...I would imagine in someone his size it is even more critical to get it
stable. I was always under the impression that a high ankle sprain was
nothing to take lightly.
"High Ankle Sprain
This condition occurs when the sprain injures the large ligament above the
ankle that joins the two bones of the lower leg, the tibia and fibula,
together. The fibula and the tibia are joined together by the syndesmotic
ligament which runs from the knee down to the ankle.
Treatment
High ankle sprains simply tend not to heal as quickly as the more common
ankle sprains. An orthopaedic physician will begin treatment by first
determining if the injury is stable or unstable. A stable injury is one in
which the tibia and fibula do not separate from each other. These injuries
can be treated in a cast or walking boot that will be worn for approximately
six weeks.
When the injury is more severe and unstable, the tibia and fibula separate
from each other. The treatment for this is surgical which involves placing
a screw between the fibula and tibia to secure the bones in proper position
while the ligament heals. This treatment is generally considered a
relatively safe and trusted surgical procedure."

I second that. It's especially good because the Jets and Pats are
two completely different types of teams right now: the Jets D is good
enough to win 3-0, while the Pats D is good enough to win 38-35....
I'm interested to see how both teams do this Sunday against
*supposedly* inferior competition. Right now the Pats have only
one TE (Rob Gronkowski), his brother Dan was cut and Hernandez
is out this weekend.

They sweep their next 3 games, beginning manana.
Is it me or we've been away at Oakland 8/10 last regular season games?
What the fuck is going on at NFL scheduling HQ?
It matters not, not to a team that fancies itself a Super-Bowl
contender. We'll see what happens.

Even the best teams will lose some games, especially against good home
teams.

Yeah. One of your guys said something like, "if we lose this game we
don't have any business considering ourselves contenders."
That's not necessarily the case. If the Raiders win it'll be due to
their running game working to some degree, but they're primarily a
running team, that's an unusual situation in the modern NFL. The Jets
are (to my mind) built to stop strong passing teams ala the Patriots
and my guys. (Chargers) A loss to Oakland doesn't mean y'all couldn't
beat a passing team.
Still. Just win the stupid thing, okay?
