I love social networking games. Games like Farmville and Frontierville gets me glued to my computer for at least 5 hours a day. But none of these games got me so crazily looked on it like CityVille. Adobe's new software, Creative Suite 4, is intended to meet special challenges such as effective collaborations between designers and developers, embracing new media, reinventing publishing and embracing the explosion of connected media.

Chad Seigel, Group Manager for Creative Suite has been quoted as saying, "Adobe is trying to break barriers and integrate all products."

Changes to Photoshop CS4 include an improved interface with the entire application enclosed in the frame which means dual monitor users can have more than one application running. The workspace switcher is for swapping between applications such as Camera RAW 5 and Bridge.

Some welcome improvements include zoom ratio which is less likely to show jagged or pixelated lines and also boasts a flicker free zoom.

Available 64-bit Plug-Ins for Photoshop CS4 Part 2

On December 12, 2008 ABSoft's noise-reducing 64-bit Neat Image was released; Neat Image is "indispensable in low-light (indoors, night, no-flash, astro) and high-speed (sport, action, children) photography."

Pixel Genius has come up with beta 64 versions of PhotoKit and PhotoKit Sharpener that can run on Photoshop CS4 64 bit installations.
Unless you have upgraded, the most recent version cannot be used when Photoshop CS4 is running as a 64 bit application.

Topaz Adjust v2.5, released in October of 2008, "makes it easy to creatively adjust photo exposure, detail, and color for photo correction and effects."

HDRSoft's tone-mapping Photomatix Pro runs in 64-bit environments however "the current version of Photomatix Pro does not yet take advantage of the 64-bit capability."

Changing Image Dimentions Using Adobe Photoshop

If you want to resize a large photo you have to take the correct precautions to prevent losing too much resolution. Making an image smaller can make it appear blurry if you don't do it right. This can make the picture less clear than it should be.

This is a fairly common issue when resizing images, but with Photoshop there's a solution.

To perform this function you must own at least the CS version of Photoshop. If you don't have this version, you may want to get it as it has far advanced features. Buying the software will get rid of the limitations you may have when editing your pictures.

To make an image smaller go to Image> Image Size> Resample Image. Choose Bicubic Sharper from the resulting menu. This setting will minimize any blur that occurs when resizing the image.

When you want to make an image larger, select Bicubic Smoother.

This process is so effective that I would recommend setting Bicubic Sharper as the default selection when you start the software. You can do this by going to Preferences> General> Image Interpolation. Here you can select Bicubic Sharper as the default.

My telephone system and cell phone drive my practice as a criminal defense attorney. I tell my clients they may call me any time of the day or night, and they depend on my being available or calling right back. I never really see that many pairs of plus size jeans out there when I am shopping. However I see women wearing plus size jeans. I have to say this has always confused me and made me wonder where these people shop. I mean I see the small plus size sections in the department stores but they aren't exactly over run with plus size jeans; to be honest al lot of the stuff I see in those sections is spandex, as stereotypical as that sounds. Actually I believe most of the plus size jeans I have seen are spandex.

The plus size jeans I seen on women around the city are for the most part fairly trendy, which is more than I can say for a lot of the plus size clothing I see floating around out there and this aroused my curiosity even more. Do to this curiosity about the location of these plus size jean sources, I looked for some on the internet and it appears there are actually a lot of resources there. However I have always been a little skeptical abut ordering jeans and clothing over the internet. It makes me nervous to order something without knowing what it is going to look like when it is on. I know you can return most of these items but with the mail, and the shipping, and the refunds, it just seems like more of a hassle than it is worth. However maybe this is a huge resource I have been missing out on.

Maybe a lot of this shopping that has been going on in the plus size jean market is happening online; I sure don't see the stores in the mall. However I will admit it is not something I have looked into extensively but have only noticed in passing, there is a good possibility I am failing to notice the true source of the industry.

Plus Size Fashion – Classically Simple

Okay so we have all seen the fashion shows on TV, or the pictures from them in the magazines and thought about how unbelievably and unnaturally thin the models are. Personally I find it very depressing. I look at these beautiful clothes on these beautiful girls and know that even if I had the money to buy the clothes, they would never look like that on me. I am not a large girl and actually wear a fairly small size, but I still find the fashion industry massively depressing.

This made me wonder for a while about plus size women and their fashion. I mean they must have the same types of thoughts right? Well now they have their own plus size fashion industry. I have seen some of the shows and the models, and these are beautiful women and beautiful clothes. I mean there are beautiful larger women that make their living as models, defying all the stereotypes that society has set about that bigger women aren't as beautiful as thin women.

Now I do have to say though, that while I admire this fashion industry that has sprung up, I am a little confused as to where the designs are being implemented. I mean for other clothes the designers prance them out and then other smaller companies start imitating the styles and soon a new trend starts and they are available in all the stores. However, I have yet to really see this in the plus size fashion world. It still seems as though there is a lack of beautiful clothes for plus size women. I would really like see more stores and boutiques built around these fashions out there for plus size women. I think it would help make people more proud of themselves and their bodies.

Plus Size Clothing – Outrageous Wear

I have a question, and if anyone is able to answer it I would really appreciate it. I am confused about this whole plus size clothing thing on a couple different levels. First of all what chauvinist male came up with that name? Plus size just sounds so unflattering. Men don't have plus size clothing sections. No they just have bigger sizes. Or they can go to stores like Big and Tall. Just once I would like to see a plus sizes sign hanging over the men's section of the store.

Second exactly who and what determined what size constitutes a plus size? Does it vary from store to store? I honestly think someone just sat down one day and arbitrarily said anything over this size will be considered a plus size, and who cares about the women who have to shop in that section. I always thought the whole thing was a little humiliating. I mean most people are not proud of being on the larger side, but to have a whole different section of the store set aside with a big side hanging over it declaring you to be overweight must be humiliating.

The entire situation is only worsened by that fact that there seems to be a distinct lack of cute fashionable plus size clothing. So not only do you have to shop under a large sign declaring you to be overweight, but you also have to look over at the smaller section and realize how much cuter all those clothes are. Mostly it seems unfair.

Now don't get me wrong there are a few good stores that have nice plus size clothing. Lane Bryant is one for example that has some really nice stuff, however the majority of stuff I see out there looks at least 5 years old and not like something anyone would be rushing to buy.

Photoshop Tools

These tools are great for adding that little extra special touch to your photographs.

The Dodge Tool

Use this tool to lighten dark areas, choose Shadows, Mid tones or Highlights and apply an exposure value. Choose an appropriate size brush and paint over the areas to be lightened – be careful not to over apply the strokes otherwise the brushed image area will start to wash out. The default setting is 50%, try a lower value with a soft edged brush for a subtle effect.

The Burn Tool

Similar in operation as the Dodge tool, but this time the image areas are darkened. Apply short strokes rather than scrubbing, this way you can apply an undo. Here's a darkroom trick, darken the edges and corners of an image, this makes the central part stand out and it works on digital pictures too.

The Sponge Tool

This has two options, Saturate and desaturated. Brush over an area to intensify the colors or reduce them. The strength of both is determined by the flow value.

Photoshop Eyedropper tips

Some helpful tips for using the Photoshop Eyedropper…

First, if you're using a tool that involves a color (paint brush, paint bucket, vector shape tool, etc.), you can hold down the Alt button (Option for Mac) and the cursor will change into the eyedropper, allowing you to select colors from your document. This is very useful for me as I'm lazy and would rather limit how often I switch tools.

Another tip is that you aren't limited to the colors in your document when you're using the eyedropper tool! You can pick colors from other visible documents, from the Photoshop interface—even from other applications as long as you can see them on the screen! As long as you start in your document and click-and-hold with the eyedropper tool, you can then drag outside of the document to anywhere in your window and pick a color.

Finally—if you're like me (not overly observant or very task-focused), you may have never even noticed the toolbar options area. The "sample size" dropdown allows you to use the eyedropper to gather a "point sample," a 3×3 average sample, or a 5×5 average sample. This is really useful if you have an image that has a lot of shading going on, and you want to get an approximate "average sample" instead of a weird color from a particular point.

My sister recently took a leap of faith and invested in Photoshop. Both painting and erasing are simple with Photoshop. The painting tools in Photoshop are a fundamental part of just about anything you can do with this program. Not only can you paint in color, you can also make selections, create transparency and much, much more.

Let's take a look at just a few of the more widely used tools in Photoshop such as the pencil, line, paintbrush, airbrush, eraser, paint bucket, and gradient tools, their functions, and their differences.

You can't paint without a brush. Photoshop 5, finds brushes in a floating palette, while Photoshop 6, the brushes palette are attached to the option bar as a drop-down menu.

You have a few options available to you in regards to how you add color. The most common are the paintbrush and the airbrush. Paintbrush is most likely the painting tool you will be using most often. The shortcut key is B. The Paintbrush tool applies color to your document similar to the way a traditional paintbrush would apply paint on paper or canvas.

The airbrush tool works more like a traditional airbrush or spray paint. Its shortcut key is J. The airbrush puts paint on a bit lighter than the paintbrush tool, but when you hold your mouse button down without moving the cursor, the paint builds up just like it would if you were to hold the nozzle down on a can of spray paint.

Of course we make mistakes, so let's know how to fix them. The eraser tool shortcut is E. The standard eraser tool has four painting modes to choose from: paintbrush, airbrush, pencil, and block. The eraser tool paints in transparency,

Optimizing Images for the Web Part 2

I use the "Save for Web" command for greater control and more precise optimization. It's found in the File menu just below the "Save As…" item.

The "Save for Web" window offers a variety of choices. Again, the options here are all fairly self explanatory.

Click on the tab at the top of the image area to choose a display option: I recommend 2-Up which allows you to see both versions of the image side by side.

The area below each image in the "Save for Web" dialog box gives you information concerning how the file will perform online. Some items you should see include the original image filename and file size; and the optimized image optimization options, the size of the optimized file, and the estimated download time using a selected modem speed. I use the 28.8 setting to be sure.

Now play with the "quality" options to the right and test the different settings.

Nothing will actually change or affect the file until you select "Save Optimized" — so play around until you have a good visual understanding of what to expect.

You can also set your scaling at this time and Photoshop does a good job of sampling your image down to the correct size. Remember: never enlarge.

Maintaining a High Buzz Rating

Success in Cafe World largely depends on your restaurant's Buzz Rating in the game. The Buzz Rating sits at the top right-hand side of the screen, and is a measure of your restaurant's fame. The higher the number, the more people will pile into your restaurant at the same time, turning up the heat on your profit potential. Buzz rating is based on your customers experiences at your restaurant. If a customer has a good experince your buzz rating will go up. However if one of your customers has a bad experince which can happen a few different, your buzz rating will go down. Good customer experinces are caused by only one variable; if a customer pays for his or her food it means they have had a good experince resulting in your buzz rating going up by 0.1. You buzz rating will only ever increase by 0.1 and has nothing to do with the dish being served or how fast it was served to the customer. Bad customer experinces on the other hand can occur for multiple reasons all resulting in you losing buzz rating. If a customer walks into your cafe and has to wait too long for a seat they will leave causing your cafe to lose some of its buzz. If a customer takes a seat and has to wait to long to be served they will also leave having a bad experince and will leave you with a lower buzz. If you are able to keep your customers happy your buzz rating will go up and your cafe will be flooded with hungry customers.

Photoshop is famously known for taxing your computers resources, but beginning with the upcoming CS4 version, it'll finally be able to make use of the muscle of your computer's graphics chip.

Photoshop CS4 takes its first steps in using the graphics processing unit, or GPU. For example, the graphics chip helps Photoshop CS4 easily zoom in and out, rotate the canvas so you can easily reorient an image for the best sketching angle, display and manipulate 3D objects, and handle color correction.

Using integrated graphics chips opens up new doors but also creates its own challenges. First of all, graphics chips are designed to discharge pixels to the screen, not sending them back to the main processor, so not all tasks can be accelerated.

Another problem is that Adobe will need to work carefully on hardware compatibility and people with older machines may need to upgrade the video card; card with 128MB of memory is recommended.

Every time I go to an event I see an unfortunate soul wearing something that would be terribly trendy on a much smaller woman but does nothing but show the larger woman at a severe disadvantage. I mean we all want to look our best right? Especially when we are at large functions. So why is it that there seems to be such a lack or beautiful plus size evening wear? Not to sound insensitive but it isn't exactly like the United States is lacking in plus size people. You would think there would be more clothes designed to cater to them.

Formal wear is hard to find in the first place. It is hard to know what is appropriate for which kind of occasion. Do you wear a long dress or a short dress? It would seem that at least some people realized there was a market out there to take advantage of. Now look on the internet and you will find that there are actually some very nice flattering things for larger women. These pictures can be used a good templates to take with you when you go to the stores to look.

If you are a lot braver than me you can even just order the dresses online and then have any alternations made at home after you get the dress. I have to say I was surprised; there are some very nice things on these sites. I think that more women need to be made aware of what is out there.

I have to say though the dress shopping was the best part.
