Hi Santano,

Ukrainian police beat up and gassed protesters who don't like a new law that makes Russia an official language in parts of the Ukraine. No matter what side peaceful protesters are on, no one deserves to be brutalized.

Tell the Ukraine to treat protesters with the dignity they deserve. »

Around 1000 protesters think legitimizing Russian is a step backward to the days of Soviet oppression. The protest was peaceful until police sprayed the crowd with tear gas. Then police employed batons and more gas to subdue angry protesters. Several had to obtain medical attention for their serious injuries

The Ukraine is sharply divided between those who want to westernize it and those who don't, but while the country works through these differences, there is no need for police to employ violence against protesters.

Tell the Ukraine to let all voices be heard and respect the right of peaceful assembly. »

Thanks for taking action!

Help replace the death penalty in California!

Pledge to vote YES on Prop. 34!

Dear Santano,

It's official: The SAFE California Act to replace the death penalty is Proposition 34!

Now that we know our number, we want to know that you and thousands of Californians are standing with us in this critical campaign.

Click here to pledge to vote YES on Prop. 34 -- and help us replace the death penalty this November!

We're just four months from November 6, when Californians will have a chance to vote to replace our broken death penalty system with life in prison with no chance of parole.

It's hard to believe that we were collecting signatures to qualify for the ballot not long ago. Now every voter in the state will have the chance to vote YES on Prop. 34.

And it starts with you, right now.

Be among the first to pledge to vote YES on Prop. 34 this November! Commit to replacing the broken death penalty in California to ensure Savings, Accountability, and Full Enforcement of the law.

With your help, Prop. 34 will deliver historic change to California that will replace the death penalty, protect the innocent, save more than $100 million every year, and focus public safety resources on solving violent crimes to keep our communities safe.

But we can't do it without you.

Natasha Minsker
Campaign Manager
SAFE CA

P.S. After you've signed the pledge to vote YES on Prop. 34, will you help us spread the word? Forward this email with your friends, share on Facebook, or post to Twitter. Thanks!

Take the pledge now
